1. Who We Are
ESL Super Squad is an English language learning application. When we say "we", "our", or "the app", we mean ESL Super Squad and its operators. Questions about this policy can be sent to fregeauj1986@gmail.com.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to run the app:
- Account data: email address and display name (stored in Supabase).
- Progress data: lesson completions, XP, stars, and streaks (stored locally and in Supabase).
- Usage analytics: anonymous event logs (route visits, correct/wrong answers, time spent) stored locally on your device only. No names, emails, or personal identifiers are included.
- Device data: none. We do not collect device IDs, IP addresses, or hardware fingerprints.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To save and sync your learning progress across devices.
- To power in-app features: streaks, badges, leaderboard, missions.
- To improve the app through aggregated, anonymous usage insights.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
4. Children Under 13 (COPPA)
ESL Super Squad is designed to be safe for all ages, including children under 13.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
- Users who identify as under 13 during sign-up are assigned a "minor" flag. Analytics tracking is disabled for these accounts.
- Parents or guardians may review or delete their child's account data at any time by contacting us at fregeauj1986@gmail.com.
- If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Account data is stored on Supabase (hosted in the EU/US on secure AWS infrastructure).
- Local analytics and progress data is stored in your browser's localStorage on your device.
- We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Passwords are hashed by Supabase Auth and never stored in plain text.
6. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data (via Settings → Profile).
- Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account).
- Export your data — contact us at fregeauj1986@gmail.com.
- Opt out of analytics — users marked as minors are opted out automatically. Others can clear app data via device settings.
7. Third-Party Services
No advertising networks or data brokers are used.
8. Cookies
We use browser localStorage (not cookies) to store your progress and settings locally. No tracking cookies or third-party cookies are set by this app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy occasionally. Significant changes will be announced in-app. The current version is always available at this page and in-app at Settings → Privacy Policy.
